These terms govern all sales made through the website www.olivewoodstore.com (hereinafter the “Site”), operated by SARL L’ORIENTALE, Parc d'Activités Europescaut, Rue du Coron des Dix, 59410 ANZIN, France. Contact: info@olivewoodstore.com.
0. Scope & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions apply to any order of handcrafted olive wood products and accessories (the “Products”) placed by a consumer or non-professional (the “Buyer”) on the Site. Validation of an order constitutes full acceptance of these Terms.
1. Orders
1.1 Placement
Orders are processed in French and in euros (€). The Buyer is responsible for any Internet access costs. Account creation is optional but requires accurate and up-to-date information. In accordance with Article 1127-1 of the French Civil Code, the Buyer may review the order details, correct any errors, and then confirm to express acceptance.
The Seller shall not be held liable for input errors or their consequences (delays or misdelivery). Reshipping costs due to incorrect addresses are borne by the Buyer.
1.2 Confirmation – “Double Click”
(i) Add to cart; (ii) Confirm the cart after verifying/modifying order details (products, addresses, payment, delivery). Order confirmation constitutes an obligation of immediate payment. A confirmation email is sent as acknowledgment.
The Seller reserves the right to suspend or cancel any order in case of payment issues, fraud, or suspected fraud.
1.3 Pre-orders (if applicable)
Some Products may be offered for pre-order; payment is due at the time of order, and delivery will occur on the announced date (subject to change).
2. Prices & Payment
2.1 Prices
Applicable prices are those displayed at the time of order confirmation. Prices are shown including or excluding VAT, as applicable, and exclude shipping fees which are displayed before checkout. Any active promotions at the time of order will apply. The Seller may update prices at any time; Products are billed based on rates in effect at order confirmation. An invoice is issued and made available to the Buyer.
2.2 Payment Methods
- Credit/debit cards: Visa, Mastercard (and Amex if activated);
- Digital wallets: PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay (if activated);
- Installment payments via a partner (e.g. Alma), only if offered at checkout, subject to eligibility (amount, country, card type).
Transactions are processed by secure payment providers (3-D Secure when applicable). The Seller has no access to banking data. Providing payment information online and final confirmation constitute electronic signature (Art. 1366 Civil Code) and full enforceability of the due amount. In case of non-payment, incident, or suspected fraud, the Seller may refuse to fulfill the order.
3. Delivery
3.1 Shipping Areas
Products are available for delivery worldwide, subject to logistical or customs limitations.
3.2 Shipping Methods & Estimated Delivery Times
- Mondial Relay (pickup point – FR/BE/LU/ES): typically 3–7 business days after dispatch (email/SMS notification, storage period per carrier policy).
- Colissimo (home delivery – France): generally 48–72 business hours after dispatch.
- International Express (e.g. DHL/UPS/Chronopost): times vary by destination and option selected.
Delivery corresponds to the transfer of physical possession of the Products. Unless otherwise stated, each order is shipped in a single package. Delivery times are indicative and may vary (peak periods, strikes, customs, etc.).
3.3 Shipping Fees
Displayed prior to checkout depending on delivery method, destination, and weight/volume.
Metropolitan France: Free delivery from €49 of purchase (excluding express options or promotional exceptions).
3.4 Tracking
A tracking number is provided once the order is dispatched. Tracking is available via “My Account” and/or on the carrier’s website.
3.5 Customs
For deliveries outside France or the EU, the Buyer acts as the importer and must comply with local laws. Customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees may apply and are the Buyer’s responsibility. The Seller has no control over such fees.
3.6 No Standard Exchange
No direct exchanges are offered. To change model/finish/size, please place a new order after returning the initial item (see Article 4).
4. Withdrawal Right & Returns
4.1 Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
Legal period of 14 days from receipt to withdraw without justification. Products must be returned new, unused, unwashed, in original packaging (protections, fillers, accessories, manuals), duly protected, within 14 days after notice of withdrawal.
Return contribution – France: €5 will be deducted from the refund when using the return label provided by the Seller.
Returns from abroad: shipping costs are borne by the Buyer (no handling fee retained by the Seller).
Refund includes the price of Products and the standard initial delivery costs (if paid), excluding express options, within 14 days of the Seller receiving the Products or receiving proof of dispatch (whichever occurs first).
Exceptions (Art. L221-28 Consumer Code): personalized products (e.g. engraving), unsealed consumables for hygiene/health reasons, and any item depreciated by excessive handling.
4.2 Product Condition
Any incomplete, damaged, used, scratched, cracked, soiled product, or product with damaged original packaging beyond a simple trial, will not be refunded. The Buyer is responsible for depreciation resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and functioning of the Product.
5. Legal Warranties
- Conformity (Art. L217-3 to L217-20 Consumer Code): defects of conformity within 2 years from delivery; remedy (repair/replacement), or failing that, price reduction or rescission, at no cost to the Buyer.
- Hidden defects (Art. 1641 et seq. Civil Code): rescission or price reduction if a hidden defect renders the Product unfit for use.
Specificities of Olive Wood: natural variations in grain, color, knots, and shades are part of the material’s authenticity and do not constitute defects.
6. Intellectual Property
The Site and all of its elements (texts, photos, videos, graphics, logos, trademarks “Olivewoodstore”, databases, software, design) are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of the Seller or its partners. Any unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.
7. Personal Data
Data processing on the Site is described in the Privacy Policy, compliant with the GDPR and French Data Protection Act. Rights may be exercised by contacting info@olivewoodstore.com.
8. Transfer of Ownership & Risk
Ownership is transferred after full payment of the price. Risk (loss, damage) transfers: (i) upon physical possession by the Buyer when the carrier is arranged by the Seller; or (ii) upon handover to the carrier chosen by the Buyer.

10. Governing Law – Disputes – Mediation
These Terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, the competent French courts shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules. Pursuant to Art. L616-1 of the Consumer Code, the Buyer may use a competent consumer mediator free of charge. The European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform is available.
11. Changes to the Terms
The Seller may modify these Terms at any time. The applicable version is that in effect on the date of order. The latest version is available on the Site.
